Students are invited to an employer insight event this January, to learn how to build a graduate law career in Dublin and beyond. Two prominent Dublin-based legal firms, McCann FitzGerald and Johnson Hana, are eager to attract talent from Northern Ireland and will be present to share their insights.
McCann FitzGerald, a leading corporate law firm with practice areas in corporate, finance, litigation, and property, is keen to discuss its Graduate Traineeship and Summer Internship opportunities with QUB students. Johnson Hana, known for its innovative Legal Process Outsourcing and Secondments, has experienced rapid growth, living up to its aim of "disrupting the legal market." Some QUB alumni are working for Johnson Hana, and they are keen to outline career opportunities within the firm.
Attending this event is crucial for law students in Northern Ireland as it offers an understanding of market trends, information on internships and traineeships, and a valuable networking opportunity with these top law firms. Demonstrating a proactive interest in the field can impress potential employers, and students can gain practical knowledge from industry leaders while exploring broader career opportunities in Dublin and beyond.
This insight event will take place on Wednesday, 15th January 2025, at 2pm in the Peter Froggatt Centre/02/026 (Floor 2, Room 26).
Please register your interest in attending at (this link).
Applications have opened for pupillage at Ten Old Square, a chancery and commercial chancery set, with the pupillage commencing in October 2026.
Pupillage is usually divided into four periods of three months and is structured to provide the pupil with experience in all Chambers’ practice areas. Pupils can expect to sit with at least four members of Chambers during their time, and during the second six months, the pupils will have opportunities to undertake work independently.
This twelve-month pupillage carries with it an award of £75,000 payable in monthly instalments in advance during the pupillage. Up to one quarter (£18,750) may be drawn down in the year preceding pupillage. Junior tenants do not pay rent and rates for their first year of practice or Chambers’ expenses for the first six months.
