Networking Success! Congratulations to QUB’s ‘Women in Law’ society for their fantastic networking event on Tuesday 9th April

Connections were forged and bonds strengthened at Tuesday’s QUB Women in Law Networking Event, sponsored by QUB’s Gender Initiative ‘Athena Swan’.  The event was organised by QUB Women in Law, our student-led peer support group for QUB law students and alumni.

This was the third annual Networking Event held on-campus, and our students were successful in lining up impressive keynote speakers, namely Dame Siobhan Keegan (Lady Chief Justice of Northern Ireland) and Madam Justice McBride (also QUB ‘Judge in Residence’).

Speaking to an audience of legal professionals and law students, these speakers reflected on their career paths to date and urged women not to limit themselves or to let others limit their career aspirations.  They emphasized the importance of mentoring and utilizing peer support networks, suggesting that women should keep their horizons broad.

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to our students for rounding off the academic year with this fantastic networking event!
