On Wednesday, 12th March, we hosted a hugely successful ‘Breaking into Law’ event in the Moot Court, shaped by student input and designed to provide real-world career insights. Part one comprised a powerful session on 'Application Insights & Tips' led by Senior HR Specialist Kerri Bradley, equipping students with key strategies to secure graduate employment. Part two offered an invaluable series of one-on-one career conversations, where students received expert guidance from:
With around 70 students in attendance, the event provided tailored advice on acing job applications, securing graduate roles, and exploring the most appropriate qualification pathways. Following the event, two attending students remarked:
'The personal experiences that the legal professionals shared were invaluable; you don't learn about that type of thing in the classroom.'
Luke Teggart (First-Year, LLB Law student)
‘I found the event to be ideal, offering the exact information and connections needed to boost one’s confidence and network’.
Barbara Dienes (LLM International Human Rights student)
Event organisers Rob Croskery (Lecturer/Practice Fellow) and Deirdre Timoney (Employability Officer) thanked the students for attending and expressed their huge thanks to all the professionals who shared their time and expertise. Without a doubt, their insights and guidance will be invaluable in shaping our students' futures!
