After weeks of intensive collaboration, master's students from our LLM Law & Technology and LLM Intellectual Property Law courses came together yesterday for the grand finale of our Innovation & Creativity Clinic!
Having worked in teams to tackle real-world case studies across diverse technological fields, this event saw them present their findings to an esteemed panel of employer judges.
A huge congratulations to our winning team – Bao Ngoc Dao, Colm Millar, Deeksha Chinnappa Manjunath, Dhawani Sharma, Henry Magnus Schaffer, Imogen McLernon, Isabella McKnight - for their outstanding research on the topic of ‘The liability of Social Media Platforms/Misuse of Private Information’. Their exceptional analysis, collaboration, and presentation skills secured them this well-deserved victory—along with prize money generously made available by A&L Goodbody!
Dr. Pratyush Nath Upreti (LLM Intellectual Property Law Programme Director) played a key role in guiding this initiative, ensuring an enriching experience for all participants. Heartfelt thanks to our incredible external judges—Keith Dunn (A&L Goodbody), Dr. Isabel Meenan (Ansons), Sean Grego (Citi), Jude Copeland (Cleaver Fulton Rankin), Olivia O'Kane (DWF NI), and Mathew Forde (Lewis Silkin)—for their time, expertise, and invaluable insights in evaluating the students' presentations.
Beyond the competition, this event provided an invaluable opportunity for students to network with industry leaders, showcase their talents, and celebrate academic excellence. A fantastic display of innovation, collaboration, and creativity!
The School of Law at Queen’s University Belfast is thrilled to celebrate the achievement of Dr. Gift Sotonye-Frank, Lecturer and the School’s Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Lead. On March 20, 2025, Dr. Sotonye-Frank was named the ‘Workplace EDI Champion’ at the inaugural Northern Ireland Hummingbird Awards, held at Belfast City Hall. This prestigious accolade recognises her exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to advancing equality, diversity, and inclusion within our School and beyond.
Final Year Students, we are excited to share that by last Friday, our School had achieved a 58% completion rate in the National Student Survey (NSS).
This is a fantastic start, but we need your help to reach our goal of 65% by this Friday.
If just 19 more of you complete the NSS survey, we will be able to hold the prize draw for two Just Eat vouchers. So, if you haven't already completed the survey, now is the perfect time to do so!
Your feedback is invaluable and helps us improve the student experience.
